I am an Epidemiologist with the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET). I currently provide technical leadership for the DHIS2 Routine Immunisation Module in Nigeria, ensuring that the platform is running optimally: data reporting, analytics, systems administration and updates.
We drive desk reviews, data triangulation, development of innovative tools that support the improvement of data quality.
Glad to share my experience of supporting the roll-out and implementation of this project in Nigeria. I would describe it as one of the country’s major Public Health successes in recent times.
Support for the platform cuts across the 36 states plus the Federal Capital Territory and the 774 Local Government Areas (Districts) in the country. Presently, we have a focus on improving the quality of data entered onto the platform so it can drive in-country activities and decision making.
