Dr. Rose Jalang’o is a medical doctor with Public Health background who is currently working with the Ministry of Health in Kenya at the National Vaccines and Immunization Program as a Strategic Information Management and Communications Officer. She holds a Bachelor’s of Medicine and Surgery and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
She has an in-depth understanding of various aspects of Immunization programs in Kenya including service delivery in the context of devolution, program management, Capacity Building, Advocacy Communications and Social Mobilization, Monitoring and Evaluation, Vaccines Logistics, supply and Quality. Her areas of interest in immunization are new vaccines introductions, Innovative approaches to Monitoring and Evaluation. In addition, she has participated in new vaccines applications and introductions: HPV vaccine, Malaria vaccine, Yellow fever vaccine and Men A vaccine. She is currently working on innovative technology applications to improve the quality of immunization data collected to inform decision making eg GIS, DHIS2 tracker for support supervision and tracking of adverse events following immunization.
She is a secretariat to the Kenya National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (KENITAG), Kenya National Vaccine Safety Advisory Committee (KNVSAC) and Immunization Inter agency Coordinating Committee (I-ICC).
