Local innovation has been key to supporting the high demands of disease surveillance and the COVID-19 surveillance -- from social media case reporting to Android-powered lab sample processing, custom apps for ICU bed tracking rand enhancing relationship analytics for contact tracing. Implementation experiences are shared from Guinea Bissau, Uganda, Lao PDR, Vietnam and Sri Lanka on how local implementers have extended existing DHIS2 platforms in country for disease surveillance.
